I'll admit- I did not at 3 years old say, " Mama, all I want in life is to be a designer!". No, I had to take my love of drawing through a process of observation, learning and lots of error making before I knew that visual design was my passion. Small victories like being the school yearbook artist, creating journal covers in college and winning prizes for local magazine contests, all helped me realize how much I love to constantly create something beautiful.
After four years of learning illustration and graphic design at the Savannah College of Art and Design, I developed a love affair with Adobe CS. Adobe and I have created and publishedmany wonderful projects together, including editorial design work, illustrations, cd covers, book covers, posters, flyers, greeting cards, tee-shirt designs, and photo-editing. At any given time on my computer I have to have Photoshop and Illustrator open. Just in case, you know.
My design journey has thus far included amazing jobs with fabulous colleagues at Bauer Publications, Anderson Thomas Design ( now Anderson Design Group), and Whole Foods Market, a wonderful internship with Good Housekeeping Magazine, and a lot of freelance work with companies like Veggie Tales, Discover Girls Magazine, Pockets Magazine, Upstream HR Solutions and Karadi Tales among others.
I am now searching for my next opportunity as a part-time or a full-time designer at a company that values a creative, self-motivating, loyal, and hardworking employee to be a part of it's family. Here's my resume, and my linkedin page for more!
